I asked for full featured netwatch like ping is some time ago. No answer seen....

I agree. A most of our scripts are used only to bypass for the limitations of the netwatch.
Most missing:
Do not change state on the first missed/received packet but after configurable count for up and down.
A bit less missing:
Configurable source interface, source IP address, routing table/VRF instance, sub second interval (BFD multihop simulation).
