GPS sync

Wed Feb 25, 2015 1:43 pm

Hi,
I have to implement a new infraestructure and I'm searching for GPS Sync support in mikrotik.

All that I could read is about something called nv3 and tdma gps sync.

Some clue if mikrotik is taking care about this feature in new hardware and new routerOS versions?

Sync with GPS allows you a better transmission to the clients and also the availibity to have differents AP in the same frequency, that allows you more antennas in the same site.

Thanks you much

+1 for sync. In highly congested areas we are using ABAB with sync and it works great. Now instead of deploying 4 sectors and using 4 separate frequencies, we use 2.

I have thousands of Mikrotiks and do not want to change brands, but the other brand is working and is affordable.

Everyone needs to hit up Mikrotik at the MUM's for this feature.

also PTP support by ROS would be handy aswell.
ie, subset of this thing https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Precision_Time_Protocol for example.
its quite popular in Telecom and probably remain in future aswell.
