version confused

Thu Sep 24, 2015 8:14 pm

Hello Folks!

I am but confused what is the stable releases and not stable releases and what is considered to be some beta version.

We have production here and only want to upgrade using stable releases.

Can someone please give an explanation, what is the best practice choosing upgrade versions ?

Bugfix is considered to be the most stable of all versions right now. Current bugfix version is 6.30.4.

Thanks!

I did get a problem with flapping switch ports and devices that suddenly ethernet ports started to malfunction, going on and off or having very limited capability with versions after 6.29 and had to install 6.33rc3 on those devices to get them stabilized again.

Right now I am using 6.32.1 on majority of production devices and 6.32.2 on a few.

The schema for patching looks very much to the AIX calendar (and for sure many other vendors uses similar patch cycles).
