winbox failed to see a brand new RB850Gx2 in neighbors

Thu Feb 25, 2016 4:05 pm

Hello,

I have got a new RB850Gx2 and winbox would not discover it in neighbors ! I tried couple of ways with multiple ports (its POE powered ) the board beeps right, once then twice , though again no chance or what so ever with winbox .

Wondering what i have to do by now ?

any help would be appreciated .

Thanks

Try netinstall, but I doubt if it is brand new is not working.

Thank you for your input , i have logged in with the serial cable to see what is going on and here is what i see :
00:43:21 interface,info ether2 link up (speed 1G, full duplex)
00:44:18 interface,info ether1 link up (speed 1G, full duplex)
00:44:18 interface,info ether3 link up (speed 1G, full duplex)
00:44:18 interface,info ether4 link up (speed 1G, full duplex)
00:44:18 interface,info ether5 link up (speed 1G, full duplex)
00:44:21 interface,info ether1 link down
00:44:21 interface,info ether2 link down
00:44:21 interface,info ether3 link down
00:44:21 interface,info ether4 link down
00:44:21 interface,info ether5 link down
00:44:22 interface,info ether2 link up (speed 1G, full duplex)
00:45:18 interface,info ether1 link up (speed 1G, full duplex)
00:45:18 interface,info ether3 link up (speed 1G, full duplex)
00:45:18 interface,info ether4 link up (speed 1G, full duplex)
00:45:18 interface,info ether5 link up (speed 1G, full duplex)
00:45:21 interface,info ether1 link down
00:45:21 interface,info ether2 link down
00:45:21 interface,info ether3 link down
00:45:21 interface,info ether4 link down
00:45:21 interface,info ether5 link down
the ports are flapping for no reason, and they are all connected or disconnected nothing changes, also when ever data goes the flapping start to happen directly, so ping for example will cause the links to flap right away

I believe netinstall is useful to upgrade the os if and only if the ethernet is accessible which is not the case now .

This is the first time that it happens to me in RouterBoard and i am totally clueless .

I tried to fix the speed and turn off auto negotiation just to try fixing my ethernet also, with no hope .

Help is highly appreciated .

Thanks

mikrotik hasnt fixed this I believe...

Try using 'ip neighbors' from another router on your network and i bet you will see it. Mac-telnet to it from there and then add an ip address to it, then you can access it. Or use IPv6.

Thank you for your input ..

I already logged with the console and I added IP addresses to the interfaces all of them, but still i can not even ping or do anything, once a packet go through the interface it goes down directly . then up after 3 seconds and keeps flapping .

Its a port problem in the port somehow , im not sure, and the board is brand new never been used before .
