XBox One - Strict NAT - how to solve?

Mon May 09, 2016 12:10 pm

Good morning all,
A customer is complaining he gets the message "Strict NAT" on his XBox one.
I have preiviously tried to solve the same problem for another customer by forwarding all the necessary incoming ports to his XBox, but no luck.

So what's the secret?

Maybe upnp would do the trick if there is not multiple nat... Otherwise you need to get the correct port list to open.

Thought I had the correct port list...however last time I tried it for another customer it complained about Strict NAT...Anyone that can confirm the port list?
In this post: http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php ... 01#p419801 I found the following list:
Xbox One
•TCP: 80
•UDP: 88, 500, 3544, 4500
•TCP and UDP: 53, 3074, 3075 (Ghosts)

What about uPNP?
I run a NAT router int the customer's CPE and in this case I think he has yet another router behind.
I assume he must be directly connected to one of the interfaces specified in uPNP?

Cascaded upnp doesn't work. But you can map individual public ip address 1:1 to the customer so he can set upnp or open needed ports on his router.

Xbox One also use these ports:

TCP: 4838, 5050 (wol & streaming)
UDP and TCP: 49000-65000
