Missing packages for RB3011

Thu May 26, 2016 4:19 pm

In the all_packages-arm-6.35.1.zip for the RB3011 I am missing the user manager package and the lte package.
Maybe the lte package is missing for hardware or kernel incompatibilities, but the user manager is hardware independent.
Why the user manager is missing? Without user manager i can't migrate from RB2011 to RB3011.

A search would have brought up there's no user-manager for ARM architecture.

user-manager may work directly with hardware, but it needs to be compiled for ARM architecture, so it is hardware dependent.

Probably same reason, no support for ARM architecture yet. Are you using a mini pcie LTE modem?

No, I'm using usb lte modem (huawei e3372), and actually router detect modem, but it impossible to save username\password\APN. Each time after closing window all fields are empty. And everytime status only 'running'

Is your modem E3372 working in HiLink mode? If so, there is no matter what you set up in LTE settings... Everything for connection is being set up in modem web interface.

Pans: as matiaszon pointed, you don't need LTE support in your scenario. You can consider it as another, standalone network device.

Depending on your modem firmware, you can use it either by setting a DHCP client, or a PPPoE client on the 3011.

Most modem parameters should be set on the modem itself using a serial connection and AT commands or modem web interface if provided, and stored on modem memory afterwards.

You can configure DMZ on MikroTik's IP (most probably to an address from 192.168.8.0/24 range), and then set up routing on MikroTik. However, you will have 2 NATs then, but for home purposes you won't notice.
