RB2011uias-2hnd good working LTE solution?

Fri Jul 01, 2016 8:14 pm

Hey guys,

i am searching for a solution to use my RB2011UiAS with a LTE USB Modem or Card if possible.
On the compatible hardware page (http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Supported ... and_modems) i see that the E3372 is supportet.

I have one of these sticks but there are 2 problems, the first is it doesnt get recognized from the router but when it should work i would also have the problem with the double nat.
So the USB Modem uses the NAT ip and the RB2011 gets only a private adress. So there would be also a problem that i can access my servers behind the router.

tldr:
Is there any solution to get LTE with RB2011 working without double NAT?

Double NAT is a problem of the E3372, not the router.  The device should offer a setting to disable
the built-in NAT but it doesn't.   There are directions on how to put different firmware making it a serial device
that can run PPP but it is a complicated procedure.
When the stick is not recognized, make sure you have uptodate software on the router (e.g. 6.35.2 or 6.35.4)

Thanks for respone.

The 3372 can work in 2 modes. In the hilink mode (NAT) and the ppp mode.
The problem is that the ppp mode is not working with the mikrotik because it cant achieve the maximum speed.
You can read this here: http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?t=89458

As it looks like there is no USB LTE Stick working fine with the mikrotik at max speed.

Would be another solution get a small mikrotik with a LTE card?

Some time ago I added that modem to a RB951, I had the same problem, and it was solved by the update to 6.35.2

OK, i will ask my question different ;)
What is the cheapest Mikrotik solution to get a LTE 150/300mbit connection working?

Because as i know the e3372 solution means a capped ppp connection or a hilink connection with double nat.
When i am wrong please tell me.

Thanks!

http://routerboard.com/RBSXTLTE3-7

it has a built in high quality LTE Category 3 modem for speeds of up to 100Mbit/s downlink and 50 Mbit/s uplink.

i think rb3011 would b good start and CCR1009-PC(silent one).
persently there was too big gap.
if you okay with fastpah, fasttrack and other stuff like that and run quite minimalistic config - you can try HEX/HAP aswell.
