Can Mikrotik handle 1 STM ?

Wed Aug 17, 2016 2:34 am

Hi ,
Can anyone confirm that CCR1072-1G-8S+ can handle 1 STM traffic or more with few simple queue rules ?

Easily, 1 STM is only 155mbps of traffic. The CCR1009 can easily handle that. The real question is if you are going to be running full BGP feeds? As the 1016 is a better option for that.

At the moment, it does not matter if you're using CCR1009 or CCR1016 for BGP. BGP is limited to one CPU core. And RAM of CCR1009 is more than enough for BGP.

I'm not using it as a gateway , the CCR will act as PPPOE server packetshaper .

so is't enough to deal with 2000 PPPOE user and 1 STM traffic ?
