winbox still missing a very important feature

Fri Sep 29, 2006 9:40 pm

hi guys
winbox is still missing a simle COPY/PASTE keyboard shortcut on console.
CTRL+V or CTRL+X or CTRL+C or SHIFT+Insert stil doesn't work on winbox console. and please don't tell me there is no keyboard geek using routeros... its just probably 3 simple single line of code to do this..

thanks

not always true... besides, mac-telneting into a router remotly is alot easier when you right click on a router in ip neighbor and choose mac-telnet then figureing out what the mac is and typing it out...

No, it does not work in TERMINAL (only in java text field)

CTRL+C does not work in (DISABLED EDITING items such as dynamic ARP records)

have you seen any console where this works? windows telnet doesn't have this, ssh doesn't have this ... I will make a suggestions, but this is not something common anyway. how do you intend to select what to copy ? shift+arrow? faster is to select and rightclick

I used linux console and it works with CTRL+SHFT+V and putty has CTRL+V ... and I didn't say it doesn't have COPY in terminal , I said it doesn't have PASTE...

the Winbox popup ARP record or other disabled editing text box does not have COPY...

basically I am disappointed from Mikrotik the way your roadmap is layed out and I was expecting better API and features. but I just take back my small request my only take ONE LINE of code in winbox...

it would have been easier for you to modify the winbox source code by single line like > IF CTRL+V pressed THEN call_paste_clipboard

but I just take it back.
I'm sorry
It was too much of huge request...

or as putty does it:

select (mouse) to select+copy
right-click (mouse) to paste
