We will pay for public hotspots in Eastern Europe

Mon Oct 17, 2016 6:26 pm

We want to pay for access (one full user) on public hotspots made with Mikrotik routers and located in Eastern Europe.
Anyone who's interested to get 10$/month/hotspot is welcome to send me a private message or just comment here.

Please explain or refer to a definition how it should be working and what are your conditions.

Basically how this works, we load ~10 lines of Javascript on the hotspot login/splash page. This collects generic information about the hotspot users, similar to Google Analytics. No personal information is collected. With enough geographic coverage, we can sell this aggregated data to our customer. We also put a VPN tunnel on the router back to us to collect the data. We need about 4-5 public hotspots in each country with more than 50 connections/hotspot/day.

Ok. Thank you for the explanation. I am not willing anyone to run a vpn from my devices. Maybe someone else will be willing... Good luck.

Javascript on the login page could easily intercept user credentials and payment information or redirect users to exploit kits. This is a very dangerous proposition.

That is a crime in our country, so I asure you that will not happen. Also, you will have access to your hotspots and can see what's happening there.

You can always connect to your hotspots and see what the script does.

That is no assurance, just empty words. Assurance means how are you financially responsible if something goes wrong, including damages and loss of profit.

Are you for real, or just trolling my post?
In Romania we already have 5 hotspots, so dont worry about it. ;)

No, I'm just irritated by the fact that mast people throw around big word statements assuring one thing or another.
To assure something means one accepts the consequences if something fails (except politicians, of course, which can assure/assume responsibility/guarantee whatever they like without any obligations - that's their job).
To all others, this should means direct financial responsibility for possible damages, and for this the financial damage support capability of the 'assurer' has to be proven.
Nothing personal...
