$1000 REWARD CCR1036 w/ vlans traffic dropping for a second

Sun Nov 27, 2016 10:41 am

I recently upgraded from a CCR1009 to a CCR1036, during the upgrade I took my ISP connections (2) and my backhauls (2) and trunked them through a 10g switch in/out of the CCR. (previously everything was assigned/sitting directly on the physical interfaces) upon installation I've noticed for the last 6 weeks that during peak traffic ~1500mbps I'm seeing occasional drops in traffic, sometimes the traffic drops to 0mbps other times about 700mbps, it happens all day long but during peak traffic happens more often. I've hired 2 well respected consultants in the USA to look at my config and they both are telling me it looks like a routeros or hardware bug. Can't seem to nail down the problem though.

Anyone have any ideas?

I've been working with Mikrotik support but no progress so far.

The first person to give me the information to fix this, or the information that leads to identifying the problem and a full resolution will get an instant $1000 via paypal.

I'm loosing my business I've worked 12 years so hard for...

I've replaced all of the hardware involved once (router, switch, sfp's, dac's, etc)

(this is not a winbox cosmetic only problem, traffic is actually dropping)

If is not to difficult, I would try with an x86 and 5.26 for half a day. If will work well you can eliminate hardware and software. It remains configuration. Use just 1GB connection instead of 10gbps, lower the price of the test if is possible, Put some queues to limit traffic to 950mbps. There where less trouble with x86 configurations.
Also, now that I read again (english is not my native language), it can be the switch or fiber converters. Mikrotik is known for sfp incompatibility.
Your sfp is listed at Receiver Sensitivity < -11.1dBm and now look at you signal, -3.6dbm.

Hi
Do you upgrade you router firmware to last version?
If so, I recommend you downgrade it to ver 6.35 or at least last "bug fix" version.
Actually I encountered to the same problem and I fix it by downgrading my Router firmware to 6.33, I hope it's working for you too.
To download this version, you can use firmware Archives in MikroTik website.

My ccr is giving me a minimum version of 6.35.4, do you have any idea if this will work instead of 6.35? I can netinstall but I'm afraid of bricking it.

So you were seeing the same behavior?

Hello
Ok. No Problem...
Use version 6.36.4 (Bugfix only)....
It is Work for me too.
I hope it work for you too but check your SFP+ module too.(change it or check it on an other Router and use B-Test to check it on heavy load ).
(NOT exactly your problem.... my Problem was: in Heavy Load Router Interface became Down and last solution was Restart it by cut the Power Supply and.... I fixed it by Downgrade it to 6.33 and some of them to 6.36.4).
GoodLuck
