Simple Queue vs Queue tree in ROS v6

Sun Mar 19, 2017 1:10 am

As I understand simple queues got a huge optimization on v6, I wonder if I can still improve performance moving from sq to pcq+queue trees on v6 or if it is not worth the try and the performance in both is similar if I have say 100 users and a RB750 and I just want to limit bandwidth without the need to prioritize specific traffic.
Thanks.

Queue tree is more efficient than simple queue even in version 6.

Yeah, I have been testing on a pool of users and I can see a difference, bandwidth is distributed more even, it can be noticed with a lot of users (simple queues), I have been trying to make it work with user-manager but I face a problem where user-manager doesn't send the 'address list' attribute to the routers when I clear 'bandwidth limits' on 'profiles limitations' when a client authenticates, I am back to simple queues for now.
