No response after connecting to command line

Tue Mar 21, 2017 2:25 am

I have just updated my 850Gx2 to v6.38.5 and no longer get a response when I log in via SSH, or even from the Webfig Terminal. Webfig itself works fine. I have rebooted the router, several times, and done a real power cycle too.

My login is accepted in SecureCRT, but then there is no response to my typing. In SecureCRT, it takes about a full minute for the Mikrotik banner to show after connecting. I once got a banner in Webfig Terminal, but only once in several attempts. After that, there is still no response to anything I type. No cursor... nothing. I can see what I type but that's all. I tried in UtlraEdit Studio and that actually crashed when I tried to connect!

It was working fine a few days before the update and I did not change anything on the router apart from updating RouterOS. There is nothing in my firewall rules that would stop it, and anyway, I can actually connect initially (and get the login banner if I wait long enough) but it seems the router then just ignores me.

Any ideas?

This is what I get after connecting with telnet in SecureCRT (I don't even get this much in Webfig Terminal)...

command [?] Gives help on the command and list of arguments

[Tab] Completes the command/word. If the input is ambiguous,
a second [Tab] gives possible options

I can type, but it is completely ignored and I don't get the cursor...

See?

Do you have any other RB connected in layer 2 with the 850?

Have you tried putty or any linux ssh client?
