Probably. I've had success with connecting Mikrotik to Cisco and SonicWall. IPSec is a standard so it should work. I found that I had to learn a bunch about IPSec before I was able to get Mikrotik to work with Sonicwall.

Hi Van9018,

I'm trying to setup a VPN with a SonicWALL at the moment and not having too much success, what were the unique setting that needs to set to make this work?

My issue is the VPN works for about 30 minutes then stop transmitting data. Some time killing Remote peer connection get the tunnel working again though this does not always work.

Any info would be great.

The default life-time is 30 minutes. It sounds like it is not renegotiating on its own. Also check if you have dead peer detection set in the peer configuration.

I checked my settings. The lifetime is different on my Sonicwall and Mikrotik. My dead peer detection is disabled on the Mikrotik, and Keep-Alive is disabled on the Sonicwall.

If it is IKE1 then enable DPD and set the same lifetime on both peers.
