HAP AC Lite VPN

Sun Apr 02, 2017 9:44 pm

I'm writing here because I stuck in with my VPN setup.

I have a HUAWEI router which is recieving the internet through an optic cable.

I have a MIKROTIK router HAP AC Lite, which is connected to the HUAWEI router.

My problem is that when I check the vpn fucntion in the Quick Set menu then the vpn is not going to work, even If I port forward the routers port, ex.: 1723, 80, or other ports. None of them works unfortunatelly.

So can somebody help me how can I make this work?

Whats the problem?

Thanks.

I'm not positive about the quick setup menu but you may need NAT traversal enabled if you are performing NAT on the Huawei router.

Try putting the huawei in bridge mode, depending on your ISP you'll need to create a pppoe-client or DHCP-Client on the interface connected to the Huawei, which will assign you the public IP to the Mikrotik.

Remember: if using PPPoE-Client, you need to change all references to ether1-wan to the pppoe interface on IP > Firewall filter AND IP > firewall > NAT.

This way you won't need any DMZ nor port forwarding.

What's your FTTH bandwidth?

You can also set the ip address og the mtk as a dmz server in the huawei router. Like this all incoming traffic will be redirected to your mtk wan port.
