About RB750Gr3

Thu Aug 24, 2017 10:43 am

Hi, all.
I need to know if this routerboard https://mikrotik.com/product/RB750Gr3 can handle 150-200 clients only routing without QoS. This is diagram of network topology https://goo.gl/photos/VZtViMQnFtWRrgrZ8. This network is in hotel.
Best regards

It may, depending on other factors, but I think there are more suitable options. What's the available Internet bandwidth?

In any case, for a network of that size, I'll use a RB3011 minimum.

If budget allows, investing on a RB1100AHx2 or CCR from starters will better protect the investment and allow for much more possible feature deployment like advanced QoS, cope with extra bandwidth when provider rises it up for all customers, etc.

As we can see, there are even more customers and hundreds of rules in the filter section . In this moment 20mbit/s - 16% cpu load !

Hi JohnTRIVOLTA, thank you for response. I think to use this device for hotel with maximum 200 client coming and going.
Thank you

What APs you will use ? Do not use cAP Lite, mAP Lite if more devices / more than 5-6 / will connect to each one !

The network is now operating with different brand Wifi routers in AP mode and the main router for now is some ASUS Wifi router and for time to time have to be rebooted. I want to change him with 750Gr3 for now. After some months will change all other (AP) to MikroTik AP`s. But then I`ll change the topology of the network with one cable to one AP to be more stable

Why? I've had about 15 devices connected to a mAP-lite. Not using a lot of bandwidth but it worked fine.

I use a couple /around 14/ of cAP Lite, mAPs Lite and 2 hAP AC Lite for APs with CAPsMAN2 In a large building and all work fine ! But the transfer rate for clients associated with cAP Lite, mAPs Lite
Is very low around 1mbit/s ! With hAP AC Lite - no problem .I reduced to connect no more than 10 clients per device /only for cAP Lite, mAPs Lite / and the speed incrase to 3-4mbit/s .I explain, just one download at that speed, if other 9 customers start it, the speed gets worse yet . hAP AC Lite have 60-70 customers on each device connected to the two radios are downloaded at 30 mbits , another вwith 5, thirds with 15, only those devices /cAP Lite, mAPs/ do not reach such speeds with their customers . I do not know why, I moved devices, exchanged their place with others to exclude a problem with the route but the same thing !
