CSS106/RB260GS to be un-managed switch

Sat Aug 26, 2017 7:52 am

I have an RB260GS and want it to operate like a L2 unmanaged switch.

I have 3 vlans passing on my network
Vlan8 192.168.88.0/24 (management)
Vlan15 192.168.77.0/24
Vlan22 192.168.99.0/24

I have an RB951 configured with IP 192.168.88.107

However when i connect to my RB1100 to see if i can see the RB951 through the RB260GS, it doesn't show the 107 IP address.

This is the network setup

RB1100 (eth5 config with all vlans enabled) - RB260GS eth1 - Eth 3 --> RB951 eth1 (also configured all vlans enabled)

I can see RB1100 and RB260 via WInbox with Ip address 88.x but can't see 88.107

If i plug RB951 direct to RB1100 I can see 88.107 in winbox.

Is there a missing config in RB260?

Can you post a network diagram? Hand drawn is fine. On the face of it, running vlans precludes the use of an unmanaged switch because you have to do at least some form of routing. Your network diagram would help to determine what you need.
