CDC_NCM Support should be possible?

Mon Oct 02, 2017 3:41 pm

Ok Ive spent quite a bit of time on this and reached a conclusion...

# Its desirable for our Tik's to get the public IP from a 3G/4G mobile broadband devices - not through HiLink, PPP or other non-ideal method.
# A lot of devices now support NCM mode where the public IP is handed over on a special NCM NDIS device - holy grail?
# This works on most Hauwei stick mode devices under windows using the AT^NDISDUP command on the "PC UI" comm port, and brings up the other wise "cable unplugged" "HAUWEI Mobile Connect" network card showing in device manager and happy days public IP on my windows box!

Surely this can be supported under Mikrotik?

I have here a Hauwei E3372 stick configured in NCM mode (AT^SETPORT="FF;12,16") and I can make it available to RouterOS developers on a device over a remote connection.

Any comment anyone why this cant be done? Someone from Mikrotik willing to have a go?
