client mode, nstreme dual mode and AP mode

Sat Dec 09, 2006 6:53 am

hi guys
I still wonder how come Mikrotik RouterOS can't support AP and Client mode together when we might need it badly to use it over nstreme dual.

for instance I have 2 Antenna on a rooftop used for nstreme dual and I can't connect to this point unless I pay another 500USD a month for additional antenna rental at that tower, where mikrotik can simple allow virtual AP work on nsteme dual or client mode,

something that even home class access point has provided to be in two mode like ASUS: https://dev.openwrt.org/ticket/16

thanks

Why not use a dual-polarity or dual-frequency antenna on the tower? That way you can use two APs with only a single antenna lease.

but why don't they add new option for wireless package since long time ago?

do you have other tower options? I would never pay cell rates at $500 per antenna. You probably do not really want a single radio to act as both client and base station anyway. If you just want a repeater use wds
But if you are paying $500 per month per radiator, you shoud really get something like Radio Waves dual freqency sectors as well, so you can cram more customers on each sector.
