We installed it on an RB112 and it kills it. It's up and running but you can't winbox or telnet in. When you try, it reboots.

i will make wild guess, that beta4 uses little more RAM as previous versions - so, when you login, there is no ram left and ROS crash.

on RB 112 try installing minimal amount of packages, like system, routerboard, routing-test

i see 100 cpu load, high ping times even on ethernet side, strange reboots when changing wireless tx power, 1 minute reboots, etc. 4 routers upgraded - 2 runs almmost ok, 2 downgraded.

well, I've tried to connect to it via telnet and winbox simultaneously. And it still runs fine. CPU usage about 5%. It has basic configuration though.

edit:
Do you have wireless enabled? I just noticed, when clients connect, cpu usage goes to 100% and telnet dies.

It looks like wireless is totally useless in this version. We upgraded a 2.9.38 PtP link to Beta4 and it drops packets like crazy. No configuration changes other than upgrading.

The problem appears to be on the AP side and not the station side.

make supout.rif, send to support. we have not seen anything similar anywhere. if this is a specific configuration issue, we would like the file to be able to fix it.

this is a problem in beta4, we have already fixed it in beta5. we will do more extensive testing on all the routerboard models before releasing the next beta.

Not yet, the latest we try is BETA-3.

I would test BETA-4 soon though, but i'm think
the feature aren't improvised yet, because t
isn't mentioned in Changelog :-)

Andrei

As normis once said, not all the changes are mentioned in changelog. Just most important ones.

We tried installing Beta4 on a Via Mini-ITX 933MHz motherboard and it halts and reboot on startup. (256MB RAM) Beta3 installs and boots just fine.

We tested the wireless on a PC platform today and it worked fine. So the wireless problem looks like it's related to routerboards only.

Read from the top down and you'll see it. Beta4 causes packet loss and several second outages using a RB532 and wireless.

Downgrading on PC's from 3.0Beta4 to 2.9.38 has caused 3 of 6 systems to be corrupted. Had to reinstall, saving configs, to get them back up. System would not load anything at all, and just stated over and over again to contact MT support.

We put Beta5 on an RB112 and it appears to be working just fine.
