Does RouterOS have a Safe Boot or Minimal Boot option?

Mon Dec 11, 2017 9:05 am

Does RouterOS have a Safe Boot or Minimal Boot method that can be enacted when a wireless radio is causing the system to lockup or reboot when initialized? If not, it would be nice to have a feature based on a method of power cycling the unit that it would do a minimal boot which would boot the routerboard without all of wireless drivers and with the minimal packages loaded so that config changes can be made and then it can be rebooted into normal mode just like booting a Windows computer into Safe Mode.

You can have multiple booting partitions and you can just not install the wireless package to the second one. Set mutual failover booting and in case the first partition is not completely booted, the second one will be booted after the restart. Partitions are independent so you can have different ros versions on them if you would like.
