Mikrotik Needing Hard Reboot

We have a mikrotik in AP mode with 3 Mikrotik clients. Now from time to
time someone needs to give the AP a hard reboot. (Switch power off for
30 seconds and then put it back on) Now the AP doesnt stop responding
it is still accessable from the one client but the other two clients stop

Has someone else experienced this? This happens about once a month
or so and the 2 clients immediatly connect straight after the AP has been

I am running those packages at the moment. Now I know I am supposed
to upgrade to the new version but the Mikrotiks are about 8 hours drive
away from me so I would like to refrain from doing anything that might
break things.

Is there a known issue with the OS of that version that would cause this ?
Or is it possible that it might be powersurges / dips.

we also have same problem on one AP, only choice is to use managed UPS, I suspect it is due firmware issue with the wireless chips.

anyone have this issue?

First of all, it is recommended to upgrade the router, because the current version is 2.9.38 is very stable and works much better than 2.9.25.
If the same situation exists using the latest version, you can contact support for help (

if you already have every now and then reboot them manually, why you are afraid to upgrade? the same guy will go over there and do his job - he do not need to know, that that was you who hand the router :)

on the other hand 2.9.38 seems to be very stable.

I had issues with 2.9.28 and above with simple routing that ros did not deliver the packets thats why I neither upgraded to latest and I stopped at 28.

at the other hand i had other wireless problem and errors which I sent them to support email and still have not received any solution.

all my routers are 2.9.38 or newer (beta) and i have no problems. hmmm....
but i use routing-test package.
