tftp server

Sun Dec 31, 2006 5:42 am

Hi,

I would like to see a tftp server in ROS.
I use cable modem equipment which is configured with
dhcp and tftp. So I could live with a single RB500 to
make connection to internet and control cable modems.

there already is ftp server in routerOS, why to add one more?

since router is no network server, there will be no extended ftp features included.

Yes. That's the point. Tftp is used cause it's "Trivial"-ftp.
Device programmers like it because it's less code they have to
put into their bios-eproms. Many Routers take this for flash
upgrades.

Also it's not much code for MT-Programmers to add

Of course if I'm the only user out there who need's it, there is no
motivation for MT to spend time for this feature. So if there are
others ...
