Router OS cant boot up after latest update

Sat Mar 17, 2018 7:46 pm

hello there,

is there anyone have same problem with me? after latest update routers os my routerboard RB1100 AH x2 cant boot up, it will keep restarting all day long, the last option what i have is hard reset and i will need to re-setup everything from beginning again which will take alot of my time because there is too many setting ive done inside.

any suggestion how i can solve it without factory reset?

p/s - i would like to think 1000 times before do update or else better do backup first, sigh..

regards,
Azmi

Make netinstall. Even if the configuration will not survive, it will at least work.

For some reason mikrotik routers sometimes go into a boot loop after an update. I wish they'd fix that.

That is why you need to make a BACKUP (on the PC!!!) before upgrading. Also, make sure that you download the firmware of the WORKING version NOW before upgrading (after upgrade it is possible that the router starts to reboot, and there is no internet access).

That way, you can easily start Netinstall, and reinstall the old version. Then restore backup, reboot, and done.
