RSTP and large or slow L2 network

Tue Apr 17, 2018 1:46 pm

It's about 4-5 years that I experience strange issues with RTSP (default) enabled on bridges, specially when the bridge involves different kind of L2 networks, as ethernet+wireless wds+eoip+vlan etc.
Those are all L2 networks without redundance and without loops, so they work well without RTSP.
Those L2 networks are composed by no more than 250 devices, and also with 10-20 devices I experienced issues with RTSP enabled.
If I let RTSP enabled also on a single bridge involved in those networks, I can see:
1) vlan not working well, vlan on interface bridge not working correctly or not working at all sometimes;
2) hotspot not working well;
3) L2 mac telnet not working well;
If I disable RTSP, all those issues disappear.
Is this a normal behavior?
Thanks

I see the same behavior on my network. Following the RC lineage, it seems I have had it reset more than a couple times. The default should be none.

What do you mean? What did you reset?

ROS updates on Release Candidate channel , seems to have changed protocol-mode from “none” to “RSTP” several times causing me grief!
