hi all,

i have mikrotik with most of clients on pppoe with masguerade. some clients are vip that dont want pppoe so i gave them ruoted public ip on different interface than the pppoe clients interface. but when i browse from these public ips browsing is stuck.
i have checked routes n they are fine..i can also access machine with these ips from outside..but they dont browse and browser is stuck on " waiting for reply". i can even ping sites that im trying to open from these ips.

plz help with this issue or give some triubleshooting openions.

If you can ping and traceroute but TCP sessions appear to hang, it could be MTU problems in combination with broken Path MTU Discovery.

Dear tom,

i checked the setings and it did work. i had to reduce my system's ethernet MTU to 1460 to make it work, that is the same MTU for my pppoe server settings. But changing MTU is tricky thing in XP for a user who is not a computer professional n changing it for all customers all the time will create headache for me...so as the problem is identified,is there a way out change in MT? so that i dont have to change client settings everytime..
