Packet Loss When Bonding Using ARP Monitoring

Fri May 11, 2018 10:40 pm

We are simulating the primary connection being down and we are seeing packet loss across the link.

As long as the bonding interface is active, we see packet loss. As soon as we remove the bonding
interface, there is no packet loss. The VLAN interface is going through several switches.

Any idea what could be causing this?

Side 1:

Code: Select all

/interface bonding
add arp-ip-targets=10.1.113.1 disabled=yes link-monitoring=arp mode=\
active-backup name=bonding1 primary=sfp-sfpplus1 \
slaves=sfp-sfpplus1,vlan113 transmit-hash-policy=layer-2-and-3
side 2:

Code: Select all

/interface bonding
add arp-ip-targets=10.1.113.2 disabled=yes link-monitoring=arp mode=\
active-backup name=bonding1 primary=SFP+2 slaves=\
SFP+2,vlan113 transmit-hash-policy=layer-2-and-3

We have the same problem, and no idea what is wrong.
