Hello guys.

Second post here. First one didn't get any answers; I hope I'm a little bit luckier this time.

Have an RB951G-2HnD for a while, and it worked almost perfectly (with the exceptions of a few frills I couldn't get it to do).

Earlier today, I decided to update the system and packages, and after the modem rebooted, it kept looping in reboot.
For some reason, WiFi never starts, and if I unplug it from the cable modem, it stops rebooting. When I plug my computer through ethernet, light comes up, computer recognizes cable is connected, but DHCP doesn't provide addresses.

Tried to manually set the IP. No go.
Tried to reset the modem. No go. Same thing: wireless network LED never lights up, and no WiFi shows up in client. Ethernet doesn't boradcast DHCP, nor does it seem to work using the original IP (192.168.88.1).

Question: did it have a broken system update downloaded? Is it possible to try to unbrick it through some image download through FTP during boot or something?

By the way, I followed every tutorial on how to use Netinstall I could find, and I could not manage to get Netinstall to see the router.

I'm using Mac OS, running netinstall on a wineskin wrapper, and as soon as it runs, I get an alert saying "bind bootp failed (10013)", and as soon as I click OK, it closes the app.

All that you are saying happened to mee last monday. I tryed to figure out de problem: Netinstall, Reset with 5, 10, 15 mm, connect via ethernet....
Nothing went OK. Finally I bought a new RB951G.
The problem appeared when I tryed to update firmware with de same IP in two MikroTik routers into de same LAN. Was my fault, I know.

Finally I managed to unbrick my RB951G-2hnd. I had to repeat a lot fo times the flushsing proces, bat at the end I got it.
I followed scrupulously this viewtopic.php?t=77999#p392660.
I used this version of Netinstall: https://download.mikrotik.com/routeros/ ... 43rc44.zip

So I have now 2 RB951G-2nhd. Thanks to Pradeep. Good Job!!!

I also managed to unbrick it. The most difficult part was having it show up in Netinstall.

First, you can't use a Linux/Mac machine using Wine. It's gotta be Windows bare metal because of privileges yada yada.
Second, you have to open netinstall, run the netboot server, and then turn on the router with the reset button pressed. You have to know it's original IP address, I suppose (192.168.88.1 in this case) and set it up all right on the Windows configs (manual IP etc etc).

Then netinstall kept crashing when I tried to select some packages. Turns out the "complete version" of the MIPSBE was just easier.

It's a lot of things for a new Mikrotik user to get used to.

Also it's incredible the self help this forum can provide. The answers only come after you managed to solve your problem by your own.
