High Performance Needed. Please help.

Wed Jan 31, 2007 5:46 pm

We're a multi-year multi-mikrotik user.

We have a place routing 200 Mbits of data and need an advice..

We've devided this traffic to 3 and each brach is routed by mikrotik. But most of the time when the traffic goes over 50mbps, cpu at 100%

Which CPU is recommended to route more than 50 Mbps and 100s of queues, routes, firewall entries etc? This means we'll REALLY use all the features of Mikrotik RouterOS

Any ideas?

if you think that BW will increase then you need best CPU you can get. as queues and other staff uses lot of CPU

since routeros is going to support SMP i would go for dual core CPU and use 3.0 maybe it is even usable now for your application

higher clock, more cache

Is it known when will dual-core CPUs be supported by MT?

Will it be revision 2.10.0 or 3.0.0?

Any roadmaps with any dates?

there is no 2.10, only v3

v3 is already available as public beta, and it supports SMP. final release expected this spring.
