Disable port - "Couldn't change interface"

Wed Jul 18, 2018 5:02 pm

I have an RB2011 which at this point just has a gateway connection on ether1, and a link to a LAN switch on ether2. Not that it's important, but I thought I may as well disable the rest of the ports for the time being to stop anyone messing around.

However, I am able to disable every port other than ether4. That one gives the following error -

Couldn't change Interface <ether4> - chosen master-port does not support this feature (6)

Does anyone have an idea what might be causing this? It's running v6.42 so there are no master/slave port options, and I can't see what could be different about this port compared to 3 & 5 on the same switch chip...

Hi,

I can confirm the exact same behavior on a hEX.
Did you upgrade from a pre 6.42 RouterOS version?
My guess is, that this is an remainder of the auto-conversion of the old master-port configuration method to the new HW accelerated bridge feature.

I'll try to reset this device an re-apply an exported configuration.
