The 'DWM-222 modem' has a different serial-number and device-id different in the two routers. The 'DWM-222 modem' has up to date firmware (FW 2.0.8 Revision A1 Firmware 18/06/2018).

Does anyone have an idea of how to fix it?

Thank you very much!

+1 for this topic

I use DWM-222 for backup in several hap ac lite or SOHO routers having usb ports (f.e.: RB951Ui,RB751Ui...) successfully.
But in hap ac2 I cannot use it.

Any suggestions would be appreciated !

I upgraded the routerOS to 6.44.1, but the problem persists. Am I alone with the problem? No solution?

This is the answer of MikroTik:
Hello,

The D-link DWM-222 4G USB modem is not listed in the supported peripherals list:
https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Peripherals

So I can not guarantee that it will work. From the Forum post I can see that the user who got it running was using it in PPP emulation mode as it seems usage of LTE interface is not supported.

To enable access via a PPP interface instead of a LTE Interface, change direct IP mode with /port firmware set ignore-directip-modem=yes command and a reboot. Note that using PPP emulation mode you may not get the same throughput speeds as using the native lte interface.

After that you can follow the example given in this wiki manual where Quectel modem is configured for use in PPP emulation mode:
https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Cellular ... our_Router

Please us know if you get it working or where do you get stuck.

Best regards,
Emils T.

I can confirm I am having the same problem with a DWM-222 H/W Ver. A2 F/W Ver.: 2.0.0TKb03.
I have tried the following with a RB951Ui-2HnD v6.45.3 which runs a DWM-157 perfectly so the RB is A OK:
* setting ignore-directip-modem=yes and rebooted
* Ver. from 6.43, 6.44 and latest 6.45.3 and nothing works.
Will not pick up a USB port and Resources shows
Let me know if there is anything else you would like me to try.
