Mon Feb 12, 2007 6:35 am

Hello

I have been asked to setup a GRE tunnel.
Is this L2tp, or PPTP or none of the above?

Thanks :-)

RouterOS does not have GRE tunnel, IPIP might be used to create unencrypted tunnel between RouterOS and Cisco.

(PPTP uses GRE to form the actual tunnel)

Right, RouterOS does support only IPIP tunnel, but Cisco supports both GRE and IPIP tunnels. So, if you need to create an unencrypted tunnel between RouterOS and any other OS use IPIP tunnel.
