Hotspot Landing Page

Thu Sep 20, 2018 3:33 pm

Hello all,

I need your help for a problem with hotspot.
I'm running hotspot on RB1100AHx2 and I'm also using external https Server (php 5.6) to host the hotspot pages.
I have change mikrotik login.html to redirect to my external server (e.g. https://www.domain.com/login.php)

Everything works fine but in the last month a lot of mobiles (mostly iphones & samsung) when they get redirect
to external site e.g. https://www.domain.com/login.php they pop up a message that site is not secure..!! and they close the
CNA browser.
Laptops with Windows 10 and other mobiles with new android version are working fine.

I also updated my SSL for the new version of Chrome and I also checked it from various sites
and all say that SSL is OK.

If I reboot the router all devices are working OK for e.g. 1 day. Then the problem starts again.
Reboot seems to solve the problem for a while but its not the solution I want.

Any suggestion what to look. I'm out of ideas...

Thank you.

Hello,

May I ask which RouterOS version you are using? We are also using https server to host our login pages and we found that the pages are only displayed on mobile devices when we deploy RouterOS version v6.42.6. On older and NEWER versions we get a blank grey page. I was wondering if you have the same problem and if so how you solved it. We have a problem right now that we cannot upgrade to a newer version because of this issue.

Thanks!

This is intentional behavior - you cannot redirect HTTPS sites to your landing page. Properly configured phones, laptops etc will detect the presence of the portal and redirect users automatically. Make sure your regular HTTP requests are redirecting and you should be fine.

Hello,

I don't know if I did something wrong but I deleted all sites from walled-garden and I added them again
using domain name (https://www.domain.com/*) and IP of servers also and it worked without problem.

Now I'm using the latest version of RouterOS. Nothing special in our setup.
We just edit the index.html of router to redirect to external login site (e.g. https://www.domain.com/login.php)
with the necessary values. We are using a real domain with SSL on it because we have facebook registration
and facebook needs SSL communication from a site.

I don't redirect https site to our landing page. https is disabled in hotspot config.

Thanks
