Time based firewall rule

Fri Feb 23, 2007 10:48 pm

I want to block some kind of traffic at given time.
I have created firewall rule and checked "time" at "Extra"
options, but it seems NOT working. If i disable "time"
it works (block given kind of traffic). If i enable
anch set time for that rule - it does'not wor. Why?
How to set time based rules?

Use GMT hour

Thank you.
The problem was with local time. I was setting time-based
rule for local time, not for GMT. I have set it for GMT and
it's OK.
I think it's stupid setting rules for GMT, not for local time.

Thanks a lot for fast answer.

I have another question about Time Based Rules.
How to make rule working only beetween 23:00 to 06:00 (only at night)?
When i want to set time 23:00-06:00 - the MT is generating
answer that :"start time bigger than end time"
So - how to set this rule????

apparently you will need 2 rules - 1 for 23:00-04:00 second 00:00-06:00

Not, must be the first from 23:00:00 to 23:59:59 and the second from 00:00:00 to 06:00:00

or only one rule:

from 23:00:00 to 1d 06:00:00

Re: Time based firewall rule

Hello all,
I am faced with some sort of similar problem. I was asked to block internet connectivity in a mikrotik router and allow traffic from some time.

What I want is to allow traffic or internet connectivity from 7:00 - 16:00 but block internet connectivity on the network from 17:00 to 6:00am.

I need the steps or firewall to achieve this step.s

Thanks
