Trying to netinstall some capACs.

a. do i need physical access to the device? It is very high an a ceiling wall and not easily accessible. There is a reboot which is part of the process so I may be screwed here.


b. Does it matter what IP address you put in netboot. Is that the IP the capAC will get defaulted too, its all very confusing. How will I get it to join my home network if its IP is all different.

C. I couldnt find any youtube or documentation that is actually helpful......

Okay making progress.
By being directly connected to the capAC I can
a. access it via winbox to give it the proper reboot command /system ...................... boot-devices=try.....-nand etc.

That works, by then unplugging the unit and waiting 10 secs and then plugging it back in.
It then becomes available on the netinstall screen.
Then I select the proper package for the unit ARM one.
Make sure the littel box is checked and INSTALL becomes available.

I Then hit install and NOTHING happens, have tried this about 5 times.
This is from my pc direct through wiring in the house to the cap aC.
Going to try next direct to the capAC poe/ethernet cable to see if that works.

If not what am I doing wrong??

If I want to keep the current configuration should I select save old configuration on the install part or the reboot part if I get that far.

Okay worked from an old laptop. Feeling better about netinstall.
