LTE keeps dropping

Sun Dec 23, 2018 10:56 pm

I have a wAP R/rbwapr-2nd with a r11e-lte-us modem. It was working fine until about a week ago then it would try to connect to lte and then drop almost immediately. I tried different sim cards did help. I reseated the modem, didn't help. I have I log of it trying to connect, it comes up with an error at at$ecmcal?.

Re: LTE keeps dropping

Same issue on LtAP Mini w/ r11e-lte-us. Several SIMS were working well and then suddenly, poof! Tried a successful Netinstall, but no luck. Also no luck with customer service.

Besides this new issue, I've had issues with other AT&T SIMS (the dreaded tx and rc rf disabled, keeps cycling).

I really wonder how much testing they do on the U.S. models of the R11E-LTE in a U.S. environment. It's a shame you can't upgrade the FW for example, like you now can the non-U.S. version. I almost fear that they are developing and testing the international version (including in relation to RouterOS) and forgetting about the U.S. version module.

Anyone having better luck with Quectel EC25-A or EP06-A ?

FYI, MikroTik support has indicated by email the problem may be an improperly calibrated Mini PCI-E modem module, requiring replacement via RMA. (Which is going to be tough through an Amazon seller!)

The router itself should be OK. They confirm that another modem module (ex. Quectel EC25-A or another R11-LTE-US) should resolve the issue.
