I'm looking for a new wireless access point for my house. My current configuration is:

RB3011UiAS-RM
+ wAP ac - RBwAPG-5HacT2HnD
+ Netgear Wireless Router - R6200
+ Cisco Catalyst switch - 3850

Why two wireless routers? I used the second for guests/IoT on a VLAN.

The Netgear has died and I need to replace it. I'm looking at two different scenarios:

1) Put in a better quality wireless for laptops (NOT the IoT network) and use the wAP for IoT.
2) Get a less expensive wireless (no eth ports needed other than WAN) for IoT that could also be removed from the house and installed in the RV.

Right now the wAP is handling 10 devices; Echo's, laptops, Fire TV, cell phones, etc. and seems working. On the other hand I'm not streaming to the TV nor gaming on the laptops ATM.

So, if I stick with MikroTik what do you recommend?

CAPac, is a great router. It is not so “moovable” if you want to move it back and forth from your home to the RV, but it is also very stable and great product.

The cAP AC and the hAP ac² are the best. The hAP has 5 ports if you need them. These units are not outdoor rated, if you need that you'll need to consider the wAP AC.

Since I live in Seattle, the parking at the airport alone would cover the cost of a half dozen CAPac's. But I do love Vienna, it is my 2nd favorite city in the world. Is there a MUM in Spain in the Fall? I'm planning on hiking the Camino de Santiago ...

Do you think inside an RV type environment would be considered "outside"? It would be protected from rain and dust, but would have larger temperature swings. the hAP looks like ti could be moved pretty easily, perhaps a bungee chord in a closet of the RV.

Temperature changes are fine. Humidity is the main concern. As long as you don't have water dropping or condensing on it, it will be fine.

I first learned of this amazing hike listening to a Canadian Violinist, Oliever Schroer last concert where he stated he was dying, it was very touching.
The radio show features his music from this walk of the Camino de Santiago where he played and recorded music with the walk as background in many of the venues.
It is haunting music.

The advantage of using the hAP ac^2 is that it takes 12V, while the cAP AC is designed for 24V. I'm not sure of the kind of install and budget you have in your RV, but it is always better if you can spare using the inverter. It comes with a detachable small transparent plastic base that can be screwed to a wall, if you prefer a tighter mounting.

I have one ac^2 and I'm quite happy with it, it delivers wirelessly the ~160/170Mbps that my provider gives me currently (nominally 150) across 1 or 2 thin walls. I'm mostly never using the ethernet ports, as it is, as usually, very inconveniently located in the home/office... I had temporarily a hAP ac lite TC in the same place, but I bought the ac^2 because the lite was maxing out at 96Mbps over cable ethernet and had less wifi performance too.

Re: MUMs in Spain in fall, I highly doubt it. I attended one in Valencia last year, and in the current calendar to October it does not appear anything in Spain.
