Difference between "Stats > Rx Drops" and "Traffic Rx Drops"

Mon Mar 18, 2019 10:07 pm

Hi there!

I am running a RB 1100AHx4 as a small to medium office router (some inter VLAN routing, dual WAN, VPN), and noticed something strange: "Interface list" does not show any Rx drops, but when opening the related interface settings via Winbox, in the "Stats" tab, I can see some Rx drops.

Well, it is not that bad. In a heck of a long time, there are a few thousands of packets dropped. But it is strange anyway.

What is the difference between these two numbers?

Thank you all!

Good day. I also use vlan, on rb4011, I also see drops. I do not have problems. Maybe this is a new switch chip?

Don't know, @Sandor1k. The interface which is showing that discrepancy do not use VLAN.

Anyway, it is good to see that I am not alone with this :)

Thank you.
