adding DHCP to VLANS ?

Fri Mar 23, 2007 9:00 pm

I am new to the mikrotik world but I am learning. I need to figure out how to add DHCP services to VLANs where each VLAN that comes in to my E1 interface gets their own range of IP's. The manual doesn't get into how to do this and when I try to add a DHCP server (using Winbox) to a VLAN interface, it tells me it is invalid. Can someone please help me?

For background info: I am maintaining and helping grow a wireless ISP and VLANs have been the best way to keep customers seperate.

So for example, I have VLANs 51, 52, 53, 54 and 55 comming in on E1 and I need them to draw from certain address ranges:
VLAN 51 - 10.0.16.2-10.0.16.254
VLAN 52 - 10.0.32.2-10.0.32.254
VLAN 53... etc..

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

If your DHCP server entries are being marked as invalid, then you probably need to add the correct IP address on the interfaces and/or you need to add the appropriate DHCP Network entries. You could also try running the DHCP server Setup wizard for each one.
