2 WAN Transmit on 1 Specific interface using separate VLANs

Sat Apr 27, 2019 11:15 pm

Hi guys

I am having some issues forwarding 2 WAN Links via 1 specific interface using 2 Separate VLANs

So i have 1 CCR where i have 2 Links input, each configure with separate Static IP and Gateway, on this specific CCR i have 2 PPPOE-Servers and i can forward traffic via IP profiles to each separate LINK. with mark_routing and mangle, so far so good.

But i also forward from this CCR to another endpoint on another CCR on another specific location using a pair of Airfiber 5X HD, on the other CCR the first link is working fine, but the second link does not work at all.

To forward link to the other endpoint device i am using a specific interface with VLAN , so i have created a second vlan and selected the same interface from the second vlan.

example

CCR1

Link1 - 192.168.2.1/30
Link2 - 192.168.3.1/30

PPPOE-SERVER1 Routing all clients PPP profile IPs to Gateway 192.168.2.1

PPOE-SERVER2 routing all clientes PPP profiles IPs to gateway 192.168.3.1

PTP to CCR2 VLAN300 IP address 11.11.2.1/30 Interface eth4 ip routes gateway 192.168.2.1
PTP to CCR3 VLAN301 IP address 12.12.3.1/30 Interface eth4 ip routes gateway 192.168.3.1

Problem is all PPPOE clients on CCR2 when i select gateway 12.12.3.1 on VLAN301 i get timeout, and no connection.
But when i mark all cliens to access internet via the gateway 11.11.2.1 VLAN300 internet is fine everything works for all.

Edit: btw i have forgotten to mention, i can ping and reach both gateways on mikrotik ccr1 from mikrotik ccr2 , both reacheable on ccr2..

So any ideas, hints, on how i can setup a clean functional way to forward the 2 WAN links via internet PTP to another mikrotik CCR at location site2.

On CCR1 i can forward packets to separate links fine, i just create 2 separate Profiles with separate ip-pools, and with mangle and ip routes i mark the connection and forward packets to the correct link.

but if there is a better working example also i will be glad to learn.

Thxs in advance.

Hi

Have a look at VRF/routing rules, with it you can setup independent routing for specific incoming interfaces.

Hi Sebastia thxs

i will do some research on it..

BTW forgot to ask before, can i use 2 different VLAN on one specific Interface on the Mikrotik without being bridge interface?

You can if the interface carrying the vlans is not a slave of some other interface (a bridge or a bonding).
Instead of writing novels, post /export hide-sensitive. Use find&replace in your favourite text editor to systematically replace all occurrences of each public IP address potentially identifying you by a distinctive pattern such as my.public.ip.1.
