need help choosing hardware

Sat Jun 15, 2019 7:39 pm

i want to create a link about 200-300 ft away and get as close to 800Mbit/s as possible. right now i have a pair of sxtsq 5 ac and can barley get 300Mbit/s TCP. i dont know what hardware to choose since the one i chose before claimed 866Mbit/s im scared to buy another device that claims something it cannot handle. i would like a direct a-b ptp bridge. this bridge will be in the emptiest of areas with almost no interference. i dont know what to buy what should i get?

With 60 Ghz antennas you can get more throughput, but I not know in TCP. With UDP, no problems.

Regards.

What are the settings you've used on the current hardware (sxtsq 5 ac)?

The 866Mb/s is probably "Radio" speed, which will equate to approximately 50% of that for Data Throughput due to wireless overhead, etc.

I recently replaced a Mikrotik LHG 5 AC wireless link with the Mikrotik 60GHz "Wireless Wire" product, end result is I have XBox / PS4 gamers on the other side of the link smiling and thanking me.

At the moment have 2 x "Wireless Wire" 60GHz products from Mikrotik in production, and to date quite impressed by them.

hi thabnks for they replies. my link handles alot of movie streaming and alot of ipcameras running about 1MB/s. for the price i paid for my RouterBOARD SXTsq G-5acD it works pretty good but i need more throughput i would like it available when i try to transfer large files through SMB ill look into their "Wireless Wire" 60ghz links. my current setup is ptp bridge no routing. by turning the mtu to max.. i can get a lot higher throughput but its still not enough. i have the firewall off im using 802.11 5ghz wpa2 aes. NV2 yielded about half the speed of 802.11 on 801.11 i get around 650Mb/s udp and 350 tcp.
