Strange DHCP server issue, stuck lease (appearing and disappearing every second)

Tue Jul 23, 2019 9:20 pm

Dear Mikrotik users,

did anybody experienced a very weird blinking dhcp lease (passing from offered to testing)? From Winbox it's impossible to open the detail window as it's immediately closed but by showing the leases in detail mode it's possible to see the state change.

The client is an Ubuntu machine (systemd flavor) that now has a static IP address and in theory should not do any DHCP request at all. The problem goes away by disabling that switch port so it could be some client/server loop.

Sorry for the bad quality attached image "before removing the leases".

Deleting the lease or making it static has no effect and the client is unable to obtain any new IP (static lease or changed IP pool) even after rebooting. Another strange thing is that the machine hostname is not "dash".

Thanks and have a great day,
Francesco

Same here! Its always "dash" hostname. IP is offered but thats all. Several tries - maybe 3 per - second (blinking in "Leases" tab) - 6.47.2 firmware.
