Hi all:

I am a newbie with RouterOS using as a router, i have some experience using it as a Wireless Networking Device. but now i want to know what i need to know to configure RouterOS as a internet router, what protocols do i need to understand completly well. i hope you can help me with it.

is there any manual or a HOWTO who help me to do what i want to do with this?..

i have read the mikrotik manual for RouterOS, but still i cant make my RB acts as an internet router :? :? :?

Thank you for your help andrewluck!! that information helped me in some way... i hope you can help me with this case...

i have a network with two IP ranges ( there is no routing tables into it, so if i want to interact with these networks at the same time i have to add two static IP entries to my network config).

net 1 : 192.168.1.0/24 GW: 192.168.1.254
net 2 : 172.16.0.0/16 GW: 172.16.0.1
both GW are internet routers.

so, if i need to choose one of these GW, what i need to do to pass internet behind RouterOS (to a different subnet i.e.: 192.168.30.0/24)??

as you can see, i am really a newbie with this, i hope you can help me with this. if you could gave me more information about RouterOS basics that you think is usefull for newbies, i will appreciate so much.

Thanks again all of you for your help!!!

There is the diagram..

What i need to know is how should i configure to use GW1 instead of GW2 for internet access. i can use DHCP server but i need static IP to get a better control of my RB532. i'm going to replace another RB532 in a remote site (28 Km away), but i need to use it as a router, not a bridge...

i have a small bridged Wireless network, no routed network... if you need a better diagram please feel free to tell me. i will make it as fast as i can.

GW1: 192.168.1.254/24
GW2: 172.16.0.1/16

what do i need to do???

thank you so much for your help and time.
