HexS to RB951G as AP

Sun Sep 29, 2019 12:40 pm

Hi all
I have a Hex S routerboard as my primary nat/firewall. Not issues with this device.
Secondary I have a RB951G which is fully bridged with connection tracking turned off.

My issue is I am trying to switch close to GB Speeds between these devices.

In the attached file you will see where my problem comes in. The RB951 Maxes out CPU at reletivly low speeds even though it is not doing any NAT or Firewall. It us purely a switch/ap in my network.

Does the Wireless portion really take so much of the processing?

Some Advise would be appreciated.

Rgds

There is just 1 cpu 600MHz, so what are you waiting to have a full GB network 100% of time? Sorry dude!

test itself is exhausting the CPU resources on the device you cannot get 1gigabit generating test traffic from the tested device itself

you need 2 powerfull separate devices to generate 1gigabit of traffic to properly test your setup at that speeds
