GigE Server for MT

Thu Apr 19, 2007 12:33 am

I'm looking at getting a couple of used Dell 1650 machines for use with MT at one of our locations.

I think they have dual GigE ports on them and they are probably E1000 variety. This should work with MT, right?

They are dual CPU, but I can just rip one CPU out or leave it in and MT 2.9 will recognize only 1 cpu, right?

I dont know the drive type on you dell, but IDE / SATA only. NO SCSI / SAS...

Most E1000 (Intel) are supported.. (See the driver compatibility list)

2.9 = Single CPU, Single Core, NO Hyper threader. 1GB RAM..

3.X (Beta) = 2+ CPUs and Hyperthreaders (I would asume multi core).. and 2GB ram..

I run RouterOS (2.9) on a DL140 G1 (HP) and it is stable as a ROCK !!!
