connection refused

suddenly, all attempts to connect to the MTK are refused; web, winbox, telnet, ssh, ftp. no changes affecting connections have been made. this is like the 3rd time in 6 months this has occurred. running v2.8.8. any ideas?

why not trying 2.8.19?

now running 2.8.18.
the original question still remains unanswered, however. It seems to be some kind of authentication problem, as even console login fails with error "Connect failed (error no=111). died with signal 6 on Mon, Dec 6 5:18:00 2004"
