Access local web same as public domain name

Tue Dec 03, 2019 8:06 am

Hello All,

I have local website hosting and register public domain already.

My public domain name is company.com and I already did DNS in public hosting as POS.COMPANY.COM.

I can access pos.company.com public work good but I want to access this same URL in local LAN it doesn't.

What I have tried is make static DNS in Mikrotik and tracert 192.168.1.5 is point to pos.company.com but when I PING pos.company.com it point to public IP instead then it can't access my local server by pos.company.com.

How could I access this domain locally and publicly the same?

If you can have split DNS configuration (DNS service returning public IP address for WAN clients and privat eIP address for LAN clients), then the reason for not working is likely not related to gateway router.

If split DNS is not a viable option, then you might implement hairpin NAT.
