Router mode OR HOTSPOT bridge ?

Fri Jan 03, 2020 9:08 am

Hello,

I have to prepare a hotspot with user-man, wandering around the net I see a lot of configuration mode, both in bridge mode and in router mode, I would like to understand the difference between the two modes. If I then want to add a vlan port is a problem or can you add it without problems?
As a guinea pig for my experiments I use an RB750Gr3

Thank you.

Bridge is a switch, a Layer 2 device that handles mac addresses and ethernet frames transport the payload ( actual data) arround the same layer 2 broadcast domain...
A router is a Layer 3 device that routes packets between networks...
Am sure that this confuses you but unless you know what exactly you want to do no one can help you...
