Second Hotspot Server on a VLAN

Fri May 04, 2007 10:45 pm

Hello,

I am using MT as the hotspot controller in the Timeshare enviroment. MT is connected to a DSLAM that pushes DSL to my wireless APs. The DSLAM handles the VLAN tagging of the APs.

I have it setup as below, but can not get directed to the login page for the hotspot server on the vlan2. DHCP works fine giving me an address for the vlan. If I turn the hotspot off, all works well. When the server is on, all I get is an IP address and no other data passes. Not even if I enter the IP address for the hotspot server.

Here is what I have.

ether2-Hotspot
Paid for service
Radius Login

vlan2-Hotspot
the main interface is ether2
Trial service only
Maybe use User-Manager

Can nobody tell me why I can get IP addresses, but not get redirected or view the login page when the hotspot server is on and setup on a vlan?

If the server is disabled, all is well over the same VLAN.

Im guessing no one here has done this - probably time to email tech support with specifics.

I have found in hotspot setups fed with anything is that if the hotspot can't see the Internet, then no login page...

make sure you have access by pinging a web site DNS address from the router...
