traffic counting

hello, i need help with counting the total traffic for e.g i have a client named pppoe-james how can i know the total traffic(upload & download) that he used. plz i need help

As you are using PPP already I think your best solution would be to install a radius server and let it do the accounting (maybe with Acct-Interim-Interval if you have long-running sessions and need up-to-date accounting values even during the lifetime of a users session).

thx but how can i install it ? can u help me ? plz :D . but what i know is that something is installed with my mt called radius :D
